We earn no income from this work.
We're asked this often, so here it is up front. Aletheia is a non-profit volunteer collective. Nobody makes money from it, and nobody on the team pays or is paid by anyone else.
01Transparency
What does “fan-made / non-profit” mean?
To us it means two things: we voice a work because we love it, and we have no financial interest in it. It does not mean copyright doesn’t apply to us. A dub is a work derived from the original; its rights always belong to the original’s owner.
Our position on copyright
All rights to every work we voice belong to their owners. Our contribution is only our voices and our labour. So:
- We credit the original work, its producer and its rights holder in every post.
- We never present the original as our own, and we never use its logo or artwork for our own branding.
- When an official Turkish dub is released, we consider taking our fan dub down and point viewers to the official version.
For takedown requests and permission questions, use the contact details on the FAQ & Policies page.
What about costs?
Team members cover equipment and software costs out of their own pockets. Hosting for this site is kept near zero with free tiers. If that changes, we’ll say so here.
02Principles
- 01
We don't charge
We accept no fee, donation or consideration of any kind for fan productions. If a collaboration offer includes payment, we discuss it separately, outside the scope of fan work.
- 02
No ads, no sponsorship
Ad revenue is switched off on our channels and we produce no sponsored content. Where a platform shows ads on its own, we look for a way to turn them off.
- 03
Permission first
For every production where it's possible, we ask the rights holder for written permission. Where we can't obtain it, we say so clearly on the project page.
- 04
We take things down on request
If a rights holder asks for content to be removed, we remove it without asking for a reason, within 72 hours at the latest.
